BLINDROM - THE PROTOTYPE
Supplement to the Dutch Mediamatic magazine in 1993
This is the prototype of Mediamatic CD ROMs. It is a pluralistic mine of sparkling ideas coupled with irony, sometimes English humour confined within a strange two dimensional machine. A marionette dances to the title theme, "Brain 5.1" is a version for chips and machines, and by "Boot Slam" one can compose "animal music" with cows. One can also see images of ecstasy from the Far East accompanied with funeral music, faces, hands, corpses dropping down from a van, famous Dutch flowers, and, finally, can fall into an "attractive" black hole, into the blind spot of the CD ROM at which the system breaks down - and from here, there is no way out at all.
