International workshop on the Internet, 1995
This CD ROM was produced as a result of a workshop that was organized in Rotterdam, and took place via the internet with the contribution of Austrian, German, Dutch, and Hungarian artists. If cyberspace is being constructed of three types of genes - that the participants send to and receive from one another - then, among the genes that keep dropping down in groups of three, like falling stars, across the dark screen, form genes are specific data sets, that is, three dimensional sketches made by the artists, memory genes are the digitised polaroids of the participants, and the meaning genes are the collectively elaborated material, which embody the theorem that the building = a sculpture. For us, interactive viewers, there is nothing else left to do but to stop the racing genes, and to decide their types.
