László Beke: Cobblestones, gravestones
“I advertised a big action with the title Cobblestones and Gravestones, which was linked to the approaching demonstrations of 15 March, Gyula Gazdag’s film*, and the Parisian events of ’68, among other things. A lot of people made their own cobblestones for this action, including Dezső Korniss, Gyula Gulyás, Miklós Erdély and many others. There were also those who made gravestones and yet others who combined these two. It was the best presentation of my life, it lasted 20 minutes. Then Gyula Pauer accidentally kicked the slide projector off the table, causing a shirt circuit in the machine so no one ever found out what the rest of my presentation would have been like, but I found this very important.”
