Krzysztof Pijarski

born 1980 Trinec, Czech Republic
student of Interdisciplinary Individual Humanistic Studies (MISH) at Warsaw University (since 2000) and photography at the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznan (since 2003)
lives and works in Warsaw

The «original» photographs were taken with a digital camera, then re-photographed from a TFT-display with a medium-format camera and, finally, traditionally enlarged on black and white photographic paper. The resolution of display of the «originals» (1280 x 960 pixels) determined the final format of 50 x 40 cm, giving in effect a resolution of 24 «pixels» per centimeter. While, beheld from a distance, the images seem quite ordinary, when approached, they reveal their discreet structure.
