Dear Gyuri,
Paris, 11 April 2021
I was browsing through the autographed copy of Illegal Avant-garde – The Chapel Studio of György Galántai in Balatonboglár 1970-1973 and remember when I and one of my friends, Alpár Bujdosó, visited you in Boglár. (The summer of which year it was escapes me.)
Alpár and I went to some get-together at the western part of Lake Balaton and when that was over we decided to drive home along the south shore to be able to drop in to see you. That’s what happened. We arrived in Boglár and you emerged from somewhere, were happy to see us and the bottle of red wine we gave you. You showed us your kingdom and were proud of it; and we were proud of you that you made a project like that happen in the middle of that regime!
Even today my heart is filled with a familiar warmth from the past when I think back to that visit.
Thank you, Gyuri!
Wishing you good health, with hugs
Pál Nagy
