Nagykarcsi’s COLLECTION OF CULTIC WORK TOOLS
K51/covered courtyard/sound PERCUSSION IMPROVISATION
Some time ago one of the domestic tools, the scythe was a cultic object of harvesting. Back in the past similar cultic objects were the shield, the sword and the lance, while cultivating the garden, animal husbandry, baking and kneading bread, hospitality, burning pottery, weaving wool etc. were regarded as sacred activities.
A cult is a consecrated activity, which people do in the interest of all humankind, and for the salvation of nature and itself, while using it as a tool of spiritual powers and the gods.
Historical man only acts in his own interests and for his own profit, which is why his activities no longer has a sacred essence. Back in the past no action could be carried out that purely served a selfish interest only benefiting individuals.
This is not a cult but work, which is not a consecrated activity, therefore in prehistoric times it was regarded as unclean, hard, butter and resembling a curse, something that was only done by servants; hence, it was not a voluntary sacrifice but a strain.
Prayer is the ancient form of a cult; it is direct service for the salvation of the world. Its essence is voluntary sacrifice, through which the one performing the cult lifts a piece of the world up to God and takes it back where it belongs: in the heavens, paradise, the golden age. Man speaks through prayer and through him speaks every speck of dust in the universe.
A cult is not owned by individuals but belongs to the community, all humankind and its salvation; its mystery lies in this. That is why in a supplication we ask the heavens to come down to earth and heavenly existence becomes reality down here. (see also the criteria of Fluxus)
