... I know, festschrift is a fine thing, what’s more it is far friendlier than remembrance (which we have unfortunately experienced quite often recently) but I’m not sure I have it in me now to record a video or write a text.

I realised a very interesting thing in the process (while looking for the photo, which I’m sending in two versions): perhaps I never met Juli Klaniczay without Gyuri Galántai being there with her... and I don’t want to analyse this.

This photo (I don’t know if I previously sent it to Juli...) is a frame from a super 8 film, which I recorded at the film/művészet [film/art] exhibition back in the day, and then it was digitized a decade (or two?) ago and many years ago I selected one or two portraits from it (e.g. one of Beke, who opened the exhibition, or one of Galeta, who was present) – and one of Juli. ...

Detail from a Super 8 mm film frame: Júlia Klaniczay at the opening of the film/művészet [film/art] exhibition on 25 February 1983, after 3 p.m., in the Budapest Exhibition Hall on Szabadsajtó Road.

I put the entrance of the gallery (with Dani Erdély’s poster) and a detail of one of the windows/shop windows (with Gyula Száva’s cut-up film, turned sideways) next to it. Since it is not a photo but perhaps a sharp frame from a pan, it has a special feel to it....
