Comment: On the copy at Artpool there is a sticker covering the Commonpress logo on the top of the cover page. Pawel Petasz writes about the usage of this “Surplus” sticker in his text Distribution of COMMONPRESS (in: Dziamski, Grzegorz (ed.): From Poetry to Poesy, Commonpress No. 4, Maximal Art Edition, Poznan, Poland, 1978) as follows: “As to the size of COMMONPRESS and the range of changes that may be introduced, 14x20 format is from now on considered to be obligatory size of COMMONPRESS. The form of the title should not be changed, too. No price should be put on the covers. Copies assigned for selling should be marked ‘surplus’ not participating in the system of distribution.”

"I would say the high point of my involvement was when I decided to do an edition of Commonpress. This was a publication series organized by Pawel Petasz in Poland (before the wall came down). Comment: “In Stuttgart, Angelika Schmidt was collecting the artwork for her upcoming photobooth issue of Common Press. I had the opportunity to get a sneak preview when I visited her. It should be another excellent book by Angelika. She has been a participant in the mail art network for several years now, and she has a very organized archive and record of this activity.” Llyod, Ginny: The Mail Art Community in Europe: a first hand view, in: Umbrella Magazine, Vol. 5, No. 1, January, 1982 [source]
